Chinese for foreigners

1. Training Objective
The direction is to train students to be practical talents of wide caliber thick foundation. Firstly, students should have the linguistics theory and knowledge, and have the good mandarin and oral English skills; secondly, students should have good foreign language ability, and be familiar with Chinese and foreign language, literature and culture; thirdly, students should master the rules and methods of teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Therefore, graduates can be engaged in the work of Chinese teaching or enter news publications, cultural management and all kinds of enterprises and institutions to be engaged in cross-cultural communication and culture dissemination and other related work at home and abroad.

2. Training Norm (Basic Requirements)
1. Having the good knowledge, the basic theory and the essential skills of Chinese linguistics, understanding its application prospect and dynamic development, and having the basic language professional quality as teachers.
2. Having good Chinese writing skills and strong Chinese oral English ability, Putonghua proficiency test can reach the level Grade 2 or above.
3. Having strong skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. English can reach to professional level 4 or university English level can reach to Grade 6; Japanese can achieve the secondary level; Korean can reach intermediate level.
4. Having good humane quality, being familiar with Chinese and western literature, history, culture and etiquette, and can use English to communicate with foreign people about Chinese and western cultural problems, and also can successfully and effectively spread Chinese culture to foreigners.
5. Having strong ability of the computer application, and higher office automation management level.
6. Learning Chinese education psychology, grasping the basic theory and management skill of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and be able to carry on the foreign Chinese class teaching.

4. Basic Disciplinary Courses
Ancient Chinese Literature, Contemporary Chinese Literature, Foreign Literature, Modern Chinese, Ancient Chinese, Introduction to Literature, Introduction to Linguistics, and Topics on Chinese Culture.
 

5. Professional Main Courses
The Second Language Teaching Outline, Chinese Writing, Oral English for teacher, Education psychology, and Methods of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
 

6. Professional Direction Courses
According to the different direction these can be divided into series courses about Chinese-English, Chinese-Japanese, and Chinese-Korean, such as Integrated English, Integrated Japanese, and Integrated Korean, as shown in the teaching plan operation table.
 

7. Meteorological Characteristics Course (except Overview of Atmospheric Science)
Meteorological Culture Introduction, Meteorological Folklore, Meteorological Literature Reading.
 

8. Length of Schooling: 4 years
