The course aims to teach students to make use of statistical methods to conduct weather forecast based on their probability theory, mathematical statistics and linear algebra experience.
Students master the basics and method of using statistical methods to conduct weather analysis and prediction, and are able to apply this method to scientific operation. This course aims to enable students to do operational work as well as scientific research in meteorology field after graduation.
Teaching and learning methods:
20% regular grades plus 80% final exam.
