Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Agricultural Meteorology was formerly known as the Laboratory of Agricultural Meteorology of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, which was founded in Oct. 1960 by professor Feng xiuzao, a famous agricultural meteorologist in China. In 2010, the laboratory was approved to be Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Agricultural Meteorology by Education Department of Jiangsu Province. The laboratory relies on meteorology, the national level key subjects, and applied meteorology, the China meteorological administration secondary key subjects, national characteristics professional and Jiangsu brand professional. The laboratory has a 42-person academic team, in which 36 persons have doctorial degrees, 8 persons hold professorships, 2 persons enjoy the state council special allowance, 1 person was awarded as The Six Major Talent Peak expert of Jiangsu province, 2 persons were named as 333 High Level Talents of Jiangsu province and 4 young and mid-age academic guiders were sponsored by QingLan Project of Jiangsu province. The laboratory has various types of teaching and researching instruments and equipments with a total value of over 18,000,000￥, including photosynthesis system, large lysimeter, eddy covariance observation system, spectrometer and environmental gas monitoring station. The laboratory has four main research directions, which are agricultural meteorology monitoring and forecast, efficient utilization of agricultural climatic resources, climate change and agriculture and agricultural meteorological disaster, respectively.
