1. Training Objective
Japanese Direction:
According to the requirements of Japanese professional syllabus, in thick foundation, broad caliber, high quality for the purpose, this major aims to train students to be compound talents who have solid foundation knowledge, skilled professional skills, can skillfully use Japanese and English, and can be engaged in Japanese teaching, Japanology research, translation, foreign exchange and enterprise management and many other kinds of work in  education, foreign affairs, enterprises, tourism, news, foreign economic and trade department and scientific research institutions and government agencies. In the training plan and course setting, teachers both pay attention to broaden the students’ range of knowledge and strengthen their basis of accumulation, and also strive to students' application and practice ability. After graduation, students can work in all kinds of enterprise, government agencies, and also can go abroad for further study, or in the domestic famous university to go to graduate school, and teach or research in college with broad knowledge and solid foundation.
 
Application Japanese Direction:
According to the requirements of Japanese professional syllabus and the market demand, this direction aims to train students to be compound talents who have both solid elementary knowledge, and professional skills, self features and outstanding advantages, can skillfully use Japanese and English, and can be engaged in management, translation, business, foreign exchange and many other kinds of work in all kinds of foreign enterprise, relevant institutions, government departments and other organizations. After graduation, students will have wide knowledge, and their Japanese language application ability will be outstanding. Besides, they can better adapt to all kinds of needs of foreign enterprises and other relevant organizations, and also can adjust faster into work.

2. Training Norm (Basic Requirements)
Japanese Direction
The major train students to have the basic knowledge and theory of Japanese language, literature and cultural, and have qualified language using level in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating, and the students’ Japanese level are required to achieve national professional eight level. Our teachers respect students’ individuality conditions, try to make a good style of study, and at last form the preliminary scientific research ability. Students are asked to further strengthen English study before they enter a school, as well as qualified to reach non-major English level 4 and even level 6 during school time. Besides, students need to be good at computer operation, use the modern information technology to acquire information and deal with the Chinese, English and Japanese material, etc. Specific as follows:
1) Understand China's relevant policy, rules and regulations;
2) Master basic knowledge of linguistics, literature and related humanities and science and technology;
3) Have a sound grounding of Japanese language and well at listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating;
4) understand China's national conditions and the society and culture of named country (Japan) and English states;
5) have good Chinese language expression ability and basic research ability;
6) have the practical application of the second foreign language ability in some degree;
7) Master basic methods of literature retrieval, material inquiry and using modern information technology to get information, and have preliminary scientific research ability.

Application Japanese Direction
While training students to have the basic knowledge of Japanese language, literature, cultural, the teachers of this direction also pay attention to the cultivation of the students' practice ability. Through the reasonable set of course system, teachers try to make the students master the Japanese in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating, and strengthen knowledge and improve ability in aspects of Japan business, science and technology, and Japanese translation, as to form their own advantages and characteristics. In addition, students are asked to further strengthen English study before they enter a school, as well as qualified to reach non-major English level 4 and even level 6 during school time.  Professional Direction Courses II: Business Japanese Conversation, Practical Japanese Reading (1, 2), Practical Japanese Writing (1, 2), Workplace Japanese, Japanese Economy, Practical Japanese-Chinese Translation (1, 2), etc.
