Prof. Jiang Jianqing

Jiang Jianqing 
President and Vice Chancellor

Born in April 1963, a native of Fuyang, Zhejiang Province, professor, doctoral supervisor, President and the Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, being responsible for the overall administrative affairs; in charge of administrative affairs concerning the appointment and dismissal of personnel, accounting, auditing, information as well as disciplines construction and development. He is in charge of the President Office, Office of Human Resources, the Liaison Section of High-level Experts, Office of Finance and Office of Auditing. Educational Background:

From September 1979 to June 1986, studied at Zhejiang University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree 
From December 1986 to September 1990, studied at the Department of Materials of Southeast University and graduated with a Doctor's Degree 
From June 1994 to May 1995, served as a post-doctor at Korean Research Institute of Machinery and Metals

From July 1986 to December 1986, served as a teacher of Hangzhou Institute of Electronics Engineering
From October 1990 to May 1994, served as a lecturer and associated professor of the Department of Materials of Southeast University
From June 1995 to December 1995, served as the researcher of the University of Birmingham (Royal Fellowships of Royal Society)
From January 1996 to August 2006, served as the professor and Dean of the School of Materials of Southeast University
From December 2001 to March 2002, served as a visiting professor of University of Wisconsin-Madison
From September 2006 to November 2008, served as the Head of the Office of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Institute for Materials Research of Southeast University
From December 2008 to July 2012, served as the Vice President, CPC Committee member and the standing committee member of CPC Committee of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology
From July 2012 to April 2014, served as the Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and the Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology

Research Fields:

He has been engaging in teaching and research of materials science and engineering, and instructed 7 doctoral students and more than 30 graduate students. He has given lectures to 10 sessions of undergraduate students on the core course “Metal Material Science”, and has published over 50 academic theses, of which nearly 30 ones have been included in SCI and EI. Besides, he owns 10 state authorized invention patents.

His researches mainly focus on high-performance metal materials, inorganic optical functional materials and film materials, etc. He has presided over more than 10 projects such as 863 national projects, National and Provincial Key Technology Research and Development Programs of China during the “10th Five-Year Plan”,  projects of Scientific and Technological Achievements of Jiangsu Province, bidding projects of Key Technology Research and Development of Zhejiang Province and hi-tech projects of Jiangsu Province.
