Vice Chancellor 

Born in July 1958, a native of Funing, Jiangsu Province, CPC member, professor and doctoral supervisor, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology; in charge of daily work of the CPC Committee, reform and development, Party work, propaganda, confidentiality and information. He is in charge of the CPC Committee Office, Propaganda Department, Department of Development and Planning (Office of Co-construction by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and the China Meteorological Administration) and Confidentiality Office. He keeps up a correspondence with School of Remote Sensing and School of Hydrometeorology.

                                                                                                  

Educational Background:

In 1982, graduated from Nanjing Institute of Meteorology with a Bachelor‘s Degree
In 1988, graduated from Nanjing Institute of Technology (presently known as Southeast University) as a major in Applied Mathematics  with a Master's Degree

                                                                                                  

Work Experience:

From January 1988 to February 1993, served as a lecturer and the Deputy Director of the Mathematics Teaching-Research Office of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology
From February 1993 to October 1995, served as the Deputy Secretary of General CPC Branch (chairing) of the Department of Basic Sciences of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology
From October 1995 to September 1998, served as the Secretary of General CPC Branch, acting Dean and Dean of the Department of Basic Sciences and a member of CPC Committee of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology
From September 1998 to August 2001, served as the Assistant Dean and CPC Committee member of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, Dean and Secretary of General CPC Branch of the Department of Basic Sciences, Dean and Secretary of General CPC Branch of the Mathematics Department
From August 2001 to August 2004, served as the Deputy Dean and CPC Committee member of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, 3-month overseas study in the University of Maryland (organized by the Organization Department of Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee)
From August 2004 to May 2006, served as the deputy secretary of CPC Committee, Vice President and CPC Committee member of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology
From May 2006 to August 2007, served as the Deputy Director of Ocean and Fisheries Bureau of Jiangsu Province (temporary post)
From August 2007 to April 2010, served as the Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee, Vice President and the standing committee member of CPC Committee of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology

Research Fields:

He has been engaging in mathematical teaching and research. His research mainly focuses on qualitative analysis of partial differential equations, numerical solutions of partial differential equations and applied mathematics in atmospheric science. He has successively chaired or participated in the National Natural Science Foundation projects, 973 projects and projects supported by the national industry-specific and the Ministry of Education funds. In recent years, he has published more than 40 academic theses in the domestic and international core journals and published 4 works and textbooks.
