Brief Introduction:

The aim of this program is to enable students to understand fundamental theory of optical engineering and to possess an extensive knowledge of related disciplines. Students are expected to be equipped for the ability to take theoretical and experimental research independently in specific areas and the capacity for the development of optical engineering technology. Students are also required to have scientific and teamwork spirit of research and good proficiency in mastering a foreign language.
Core courses of this program include stochastic mathematics, numerical methods, scientific English, advanced optics, optoelectronics devices, experiments for advanced optoelectronic technology, digital image processing and analysis, modern information optics, optoelectronic detection technology and its applications, modern optical testing technology, optical spectroscopy and its technology, optical-fiber sensing technology, random-medium optical transmission, design of modern optoelectronic instruments, optoelectronic materials and devices, optical remote sensing technology and theory and technology of optical communication.

Brief Introduction: 

The program is operated jointly with School of Mathematics and Statistics. The aim of space weather is to study the physical processes of the ionosphere, ionospheric models in space weather forecasting, space weather, nonlinear dynamical systems, etc. The aim of the program is to prepare students for a solid theoretical basis of mathematics and physics and advanced space, new technology of information processing and development, advanced experimental techniques. Students are expe

cted to be able to apply the theory of space physics and electromagnetic technology, optical technology and communication technology in space weather and forecasting.
The core courses for the MSc program include electromagnetic field theory, space weather,  progress of cloud and precipitation physics, atmospheric chemistry, atmospheric radiation and optics, advanced atmospheric dynamics, scientific English, introduction to plasma physics, advanced synoptic meteorology, climate dynamics, advanced atmospheric circulation, theory of electromagnetic radiation, nonlinear dynamics, data processing of space physics. The core courses for the PhD program include modern applied mathematics, English listening and speaking, advances in atmospheric science, progress of modern meteorological business, dynamics of magnetic fluids, dynamics of upper atmosphere, particle physics, etc.
