Introduction
School of Atmospheric Science(SAS) was formed in 1960 to offer admission to undergraduate students majoring in Weather Dynamics. In 1978, it was authorized to offer Master’s Degree for weather dynamics and climatology majors. In 1993, SAS started program for Doctor's Degree in the major of weather dynamics. In 1998, it was approved as a class A disciplinary unit which was authorized to grant doctoral degree and set up post-doctoral workshops in the next year. School of Atmospheric Science accommodates one National Key Primary Discipline (Atmospheric Science).
In recent years, the school made effort to build up a special region in Atmospheric Science. The basic researches possess leading position domestically and the application researches in meteorology rank the forefront among national colleges and universities. Many graduates of School of Atmospheric Science have become Academicians, talents of “Thousand Talents Plan”, National Outstanding Youth, talents of “Hundred Talents Plan” and overseas tenured professors. Besides, the school has long established cooperative relationship with more than 20 renowned overseas universities in scientific research and personnel training. Furthermore, the school has formed stable research direction in meteorological data assimilation, typhoons and mesoscale meteorology, atmospheric circulation and dynamic processes, monsoon and sea-land-atmosphere interaction, numerical model development and short-term climate prediction, as well as climate change and regional response. The academic leaders of all these directions are talents of “Thousand Talents Plan” or distinguished professors in Jiangsu Province. School of Atmospheric Science also has complete teaching and research platforms.

I. Positions:
We are looking for:
40-50 Discipline Leading Talents/Academic Leaders and Academic Elite;
2 to 3 Innovation Teams
Professional Areas: Atmospheric Science

II. Requirements and Remuneration:
(1) Academic Leaders:
A qualified candidate should 1) be in good health and under the age of 55, regardless of nationality (The age limit can be appropriately relaxed for the excellent candidates and there is no age limit for those who won major international awards); 2) be a person of integrity, professionalism, strong organization and coordination ability, and team spirit; 3) hold an overseas doctoral degree and a minimum of three years overseas working experience, or hold a postdoctoral degree for a minimum of five years; 4) have profound academic attainments and outstanding scientific research achievements in the last five years;
Qualified candidates will be offered settling-in allowance and an annual salary of 200,000 – 2,000,000 RMB. Both the settling-in allowance and annual salary can be negotiable once the approximate range is determined according to the relevant policies of the University.
(2) The Academic Elite:
A qualified candidate should 1) be in good health and under the age of 40, regardless of nationality; 2) be a person of integrity, professionalism, strong organization and coordination ability, and team spirit; 3) hold an overseas doctoral degree or a post-doctoral degree for a minimums of two years; 4) have profound academic attainments and outstanding scientific research achievements in the last five years;
Qualified candidates will be offered settling-in allowance and an annual salary of 150,000-600,000 RMB. Both the settling-in allowance and annual salary can be negotiable once the approximate range is determined according to the relevant policies of the university.
(3) Team Recruitment:
Priority will be given to the team with the same professional field. The team members should be more than three people. The team leader should meet the requirements of academic leaders and the team members should meet the requirements of academic elite.

III. Application Procedure:

3. Applicants will need to provide the following materials:
(1) “High-level Candidates Registration Form of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology”, which can be downloaded at the Download Center on the website of Human Resource Department of NUIST;
(2) Photocopies of Diploma, Education Degree and Appointment Letter;
(3) A list of main achievements in teaching and research, and photocopies of five representative publications in the recent five years;
(4) A list of projects that the candidate has conducted and participated in and photocopies of awards;
(5) Research plans, expected objectives and expected annual salary.
