From November 13th to November 14th, a delegation from National Dong Hwa University visited our school, signed cooperation agreements and discussed affairs such as students exchanges, teachers’ exchange visits, scientific research cooperation and etc.
On the afternoon of 13th, President Li Beiqun and Chief Accountant Hu Mingbao met with Zhao Hanjie, President of National Dong Hwa University in the reception room of Administration Building. Representatives of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office, Personnel Department, Academic Affairs Office, School of Computer & Software and School of Binjiang attended the meeting. The two sides signed a cooperation agreement.
President Li Bequn expressed warm welcome to President Zhao Hanjie and thanks to National Dong Hwa University for their efforts on the bilateral cooperation and development in recent years. President Li pointed out that our school has been attaching great importance to exchanges with universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the number of exchange students in spring semester who enrolled in 2018 National Dong Hwa University program has reached more than 50. He hoped that both sides could strengthen cooperation in expanding cooperation disciplines, optimizing cooperation forms, strengthening publicity and building cross-domain teaching brands in the future.
President Zhao Hanjie fully agreed with the views and suggestions proposed by President Li and thanked NUIST for actively promoting undergraduates' exchanges with Taiwan. He said that National Dong Hwa University has already made full preparations for welcoming the first group of students from NUIST. He proposed that both sides should combine their strengths, obtain advantages from each other, work hand in hand and move toward a better direction.
On the afternoon of 14th, the delegation of Vice Presidents of National Dong Hwa University Zhu Jingpeng paid a visit to NUIST for exchanges and discussion. Chief Accountant Hu Mingbao attended the meeting. Chief Accountant Hu Mingbao expressed that Mainland and Taiwan share the same origin in culture. The cooperation between universities in Mainland and universities in Hong Kong, Maucao and Taiwan enjoys natural advantages. Students from both sides can exchange ideas and make progress together. Vice President Zhu Jingpeng said that National Dong Hwa University has formulated a detailed plan for exchange students from NUIST. The two sides agreed that the prospects for cooperation between the two universities will be better.
After the meeting, two sides exchanged gifts and took pictures together. The delegation visited the campus.
