Apply Online
Applicants should log in UPC Online Application System for International Students (http://nuist.17gz.org/member/login.do), register an applicant account, fill in personal information and upload required application documents.
Applicants who have difficulty with internet access can download the NUIST APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS from our college website (“Admission” – “Download for Admission”). Please prepare your application documents according to Entry Requirements. Completed forms and application documents should be sent to the oie@nuist.edu.cn or by post: 219 Ningliu Road, Pukou District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, 210044, 86-25-58699848
Pay Application Fee
Admitted students will be informed by a notice sent by email to pay their application fee. If the applicants fail to pay their application fee on time, he/she will be regarded as giving up this admission.
Receive Admissions Materials
Once application fee is received by NUIST, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202/JW201) and other admission materials will be sent to candidates by DHL or by S.F. Express in 10 working days.
Apply Study Visa & Registration
Admitted students should apply for a student visa (X1 or X2 visa) to the Chinese embassy or consulate with this Admission Notice, the original copies of Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202/JW201), Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test report. Admitted students should register at NUIST within the due time. If the students fail to register within the time limit without the permission of the institution, he/she will be regarded as giving up this admission.

Entry Requirements & Application Documents

PhD Programs | 1. Applicants must: be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China; be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40; be in good health; abide by the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and the regulations of the school. 2. The copy of passport photo page. Applicant who is already in China, shall submit the copy of the visa page or the copy of Residence Permit. 3. Highest degree certificate. Prospective degree recipients shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date and later submit the degree certificate to NUIST after admission. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations. 4. Academic transcripts. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations. 5. Two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor. Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter. 6. An acceptance letter signed by doctoral supervisor from NUIST. 7. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. 8. Published academic papers or other academic achievements. 9. For Chinese-taught programs: applicants shall present the copy of certificate of HSK Band 4 or above. 10. For English-taught programs: applicants from non-English speaking countries shall present the copy of English proficiency certificate, such as TOEFL 80 or above/ IELTS 6 or above, or other official English proficiency certificates acceptable. 11. Other supporting materials (if available, such as certificates of awards and training, etc.). |
Master Programs | 1. Bachelor Programs | 1. Applicants must: be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China; be a high school graduate under the age of 30; be in good health; abide by the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and the regulations of the school. Applications under the age of 18 should submit letters of approval and provide the emergency contact number for their legal guardians in China. 2. The copy of passport photo page. Applicant who is already in China, shall submit the copy of the visa page or the copy of Residence Permit. 3. Graduate certificate of high school. Prospective degree recipients shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date and later submit the graduation certificate to NUIST after admission. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations. 4. High school academic transcripts. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations. 5. A Study Plan in Chinese or English. 6. For Chinese-taught programs: applicants shall present the copy of certificate of HSK Band 4 or above. 7. Notes:
1. Applicants shall submit an application form, which can be generated by online application system (http://nuist.17gz.org/member/login.do) or downloaded from http://gjy.nuist.edu.cn/english/DownloadforAdmission/list.htm.
2. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy).The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. 3. Additional materials may be requested from NUIST (eg: Non-criminal certificate, bank statement, etc).
4. No application documents will be returned.
