OVERVIEW
Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST) is on the list of China’s Double First-class universities and disciplines as well as Jiangsu high level universities. NUIST has over 30,000 undergraduates and more than 1,600 full-time teachers. The university has distinct characteristics. The discipline of Atmospheric Sciences has twice won the first place in the discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education of China. Meteorology is a national key discipline. Eight disciplines, such as Meteorological Equipment, Environmental Engineering and Communication Engineering, were awarded the project of construction of superior disciplines in Jiangsu universities; Geosciences, Engineering Science and Computer Science are among the top 1% of ESI disciplines in the world. NUIST currently has 6 doctoral programs. Besides, there are 22 master programs and 13 professional master programs.
NUIST also has an independent Chinese-foreign cooperative education organization----NUIST Reading Academy, which is co-established with the University of Reading. There are six undergraduate programs in Atmospheric Science, Economy and Trade, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Law.
In addition, NUIST and the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland have a joint undergraduate programme in Software Engineering. NUIST and the Anglia Ruskin University in the UK have a joint undergraduate program in Digital Media Art.
